Is it Asthma? Signs & Symptoms

Asthma is one of the most commonly prevalent respiratory diseases in the world. Asthma is a breathing disorder that occurs when the bronchial tubes become inflamed and these tubes fill up with a sticky secretion that makes it difficult to breath. Persistent Cough

This is among the most common symptoms of asthma. If your coughing(wet or dry) increases while lying down or after exercising you may have a cough-variant asthma where the only symptom is chronic cough.

Wheezing

It is a whistling sound that usually occurs while exhaling. While is doesn’t specifically mean you have asthma, it is a symptom that you could be suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure (CHF) or pneumonia.

Fatigue

Due to decreased oxygen supply asthma patients experience loss of energy. Wheezing and coughing during the night can also result in fatigue during the day.

Difficulty Breathing

Chest Tightness

People often mistake chest tightness for a heart attack.
